GUTE GROUP
About GUTE GROUP

A quiet operator behind some of the region's most consequential contracts.

For nearly two decades, GUTE GROUP has been the trusted intermediary between governments, multilateral institutions, and enterprise clients — quietly delivering the procurement, trade, and supply mandates that keep economies moving.

Our story

Built from a simple belief: complex procurement should not require compromise.

GUTE GROUP was founded in 2007 to close a persistent gap between public-sector ambition and delivery reality. Our founders had watched capable ministries and enterprise clients struggle to convert funding into finished projects, held back by fragmented supplier markets and paperwork-heavy compliance regimes.

We built the firm around a single premise: run every mandate with institutional rigour, keep the paperwork airtight, and never trade integrity for speed. Nearly two decades later, that discipline is what our clients still rely on us for.

Our Mission

To be the most trusted execution partner for governments and enterprise clients in every market we serve — turning strategy into delivered outcomes.

Our Vision

To set the standard for integrity and delivery discipline in African and international procurement, trade, and trading.

Core values

The principles that show up in every engagement.

Integrity

Every mandate is executed against transparent, auditable standards.

Excellence

We hold ourselves to institutional-grade discipline on every deliverable.

Partnership

We invest in long-term relationships with clients, suppliers, and regulators.

Innovation

We look for structural improvements — not just workarounds — in every engagement.

In Memoriam

Founded on a lifetime of discipline and service.

General Martin Chomu Tumenta

Before he was our founder, General Martin Chomu Tumenta spent a lifetime in the service of others. A career officer in the Cameroonian Armed Forces' Airborne Infantry, he rose through some of its most demanding commands — Chief of Operations at Army Headquarters, Commander of Operations DELTA in the Bakassi peninsula, Commander of the Third Joint Task Force Region, and Human Resources Director at the Department of Defence — earning his qualifications as a staff officer at Fort Leavenworth in the United States, France's War College, and Egypt's Peace Operations School along the way.

In December 2013 he was appointed Force Commander of MISCA, the African-led International Support Mission in the Central African Republic, and in September 2014 the United Nations Secretary-General appointed him Force Commander of MINUSCA, the UN's stabilisation mission in the same country — entrusting him with one of the organisation's most difficult peacekeeping commands. He served in that post, working to protect civilians and restore peace and security, until his death on 30 November 2015. The UN Secretary-General and the African Union both paid tribute to his exceptional contribution to peace and security in the region.

It was that same discipline, integrity, and sense of duty that he brought home — and that became the founding standard for GUTE GROUP. The Group he started, and the family that now leads it, continue to build every mandate on the example he set.

Leadership

Operators, not intermediaries.

Mr. Chomu Tumenta Martin

Mr. Chomu Tumenta Martin leads GUTE GROUP as Group Chief Executive, carrying forward the standard of integrity and delivery discipline set by his father and the Group's founder, General Martin Chomu Tumenta. He has built on that foundation to meet international standards of integrity and delivery while remaining deeply rooted in the African markets the Group serves.

With more than two decades of experience across government contracting, international trade, and property development, he has personally led programmes with ministries, multilateral institutions, and enterprise clients across Africa, Europe, and Asia. He is known for hands-on leadership, uncompromising compliance discipline, and a long-term view of client relationships.

Under his stewardship, GUTE GROUP has grown from a specialist procurement advisor into an integrated group spanning Contracts, Import & Export, General Trading, and Real Estate — united by one operating standard and one accountable partner for clients.
